ANDERSON, William (Bill)
October 1, 1937 - March 4, 2013
Bill died peacefully after a very brave fight with prostate cancer and diabetes. He was a truly unique man who had many friends but was quite personal about his disease.
Bill was born in Glasgow, Scotland, schooled in Redwater, Alberta and lived in Edmonton. His happiest time was in Vancouver living on his beloved boat "The Stranger".
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Kimberly, son Jason (Mandy), friend and former wife Carole, his brother Gordon and wife Rita, nieces Alison, Melody, Lynn, Kim and nephew Rob.
Bill was predeceased by his sister Helen, brother Robert, father William and mother Robina.
Bill was a long time employee of Sperry Univac. In North Vancouver he coached boy's soccer and enjoyed boating with friends/ family. Bill had 29 years of sobriety and gave all the credit to 'Alcoholics Anonymous'.
He will be remembered and missed by his many friends in Alberta and BC, particularly at the Vancouver Rowing Club, and AA.
A gathering of friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Paul's Hospital.
