LECKY, Harry Joseph
February 19, 1920 – April 6, 2014
Our loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 94 years. Harry is lovingly remembered by his dear wife of 66 years, Maxine (nee McKinnon); children Don, Marlene (Dave Perron), Myrna (Larry Lalonde), Bruce (Lisa Morin), Paul (Pam Parisien); grandchildren Ryan, Thomas, James, Kalyn, Matthew, Patrick, Stephen and Colleen. Harry is predeceased by his parents Albert and Albertine Lecky; twin brother Albert, as well as brothers Clarence and Ken.
Harry was born and raised in Port Arthur, Ontario. In 1947, he married Maxine, the love of his life, and together, they began raising a family. Harry became a salesman for Carnation Company and in 1956, was promoted to sales supervisor and transferred to Edmonton. Eventually Harry left his job at Carnation to open his own brokerage firm, Harry Lecky Sales.
We would like to give special thanks to the compassionate, caring staff of CapitalCare Lynnwood who cared for Harry over the past several months. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9830 - 148 Street, Edmonton.
For those who wish to do so, donations in memory of Harry may be made to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, 8215 112 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 2L9.
