DEUTSCHER, Anthony Francis "Tony"
February 24, 1916 – May 19, 2014
Anthony F. (Tony) Deutscher died peacefully on May 19, 2014 at the age of 98 years. He was born in Osasge, Saskatchewan on February 24, 1916.
Born into a family of 13 children, he is survived only by his brother, John (Anna); three sons: Clive (Karlene), Pat (Lynn) and Tim (Catharine); grandchildren Neil, Samantha, Kristen, Steven and Alan; great- grandchildren: Karl, Sadie and Grayson; and by numerous nephews and nieces.
Tony was predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Bernice Gavigan.
He was proud to have served Canada in WWII in the RCAF. Tony worked as a teacher, a hotel-keeper and in various capacities with the Co-ops, managing the Edmonton Co-op from 1966 to 1977.
A Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Connelly- McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 26, 2014 at St. Albert Catholic Parish, 7 St. Vital Avenue, Street, Albert, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation in his memory to Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation, 201 Boudreau Road, St. Albert, Alberta T8N 6C4.
