December 25, 1923 - March 4, 2012
It is with love, but sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Casavant at 88 years in Kelowna after a courageous battle with Lewy-Body Dementia.
Margaret was born in Nottingham, England in 1923, and moved to Canada as a war bride in 1944. She worked on her homestead in Fort Assiniboine and in Edmonton at the city hall after leaving her homestead until she married Rod. They then moved to Grande Prairie where she worked in the tax department at the city hall and at the optometrist shop in Grande Prairie until her retirement.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Rod and daughter, Linda. She is survived by her children, Linton (Judy), Kaye (Clarence), Gary (Evelyn), Bryan (Ali), Janet (Terry), David (Amy); son-in-law, Ron; her nineteen grandchildren, and nineteen great- grandchildren. She had a way of making her children and many grandchildren all feel special. She will be fondly remembered by so many who were touched by her work ethic, generosity and sense of humour.
A Memorial Service to Celebrate Her Life will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 3:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 - 111 Avenue, Edmonton, AB. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Canada, Edmonton General, Room 3Y18, 11111 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5K 0L4.
