PARHAR, Gurdial Singh
Gurdial Singh Parhar, born on May 11, 1923 in Punjab, India, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 8, 2012 in Edmonton, Alberta.
He was a war veteran, serving in World War II as a member of the British Army.
Gurdial Singh was a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather, as well as a spiritual, generous and genuine human being. Gurdial Singh will be remembered by his family and friends as a passionate and hardworking man who deeply loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Joginder; one son, Satarjit (Narinder); three daughters, Nirmaljit (Harpal) Parmar, Janakjit (Jagat) Jaswal and Jasbir (Amarjit) Parmar; twelve grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and one younger brother, Sukhdev Singh Parhar.
Gurdial Singh's family wish to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Devonshire Care Centre, as well as a special thank you to Dr. Grewal.
The Funeral Service is planned for Sunday, August 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, followed by a Guru ka Langar at Gurdwara Siri Guru Singh Sabha, 4504 Millwoods Road South (Gurdwara Road) N.W.
