BALTZAN, Arda Marine
The Guest Book is expired.
Arda Marine Baltzan passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012, a result of a debilitating illness. Attended by her family, Arda was tenacious to the end.
Born March 20, 1938 in Geleen, Holland to Gerhardt and Bella Tummers, Arda lost her father at a very early age and her mother remarried Cornelias Rozenhart. She grew up as the oldest of five children and the family arrived in Canada in 1953. She assimilated quickly and in the coming years became an influence in politics and her community. Involved in several local charities she championed many causes. As a board member for the Northern Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, Arda pioneered the beginnings of what was to become the world recognized Stollery Children's Hospital - one of many crowning achievements.
She always had high standards and discerning taste as she met every challenge with a grace that was quite remarkable. Arda's charm and personality always made her loved by the people she met. A woman of humility and elegance everyone felt special in her company.
Her family remains in sorrow, son Christopher (Tamara) Baltzan, grandson Benjamin Baltzan; brothers, Peter Rozenhart, Wally (Simone) Rozenhart, Rob (Leslie) Rozenhart, and sister Henriette (Howard) Pechet. Arda was predeceased by her loving husband Ronald M. Baltzan.
A Service to celebrate her life will be held at Connelly McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 - 114 Street, Edmonton, Alberta on November 19, 2012, 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, 14611 - St. Albert Trail.
