WYNNYK, Orest Walter
July 1940 - November 11, 2012
It is with great sadness the family of Orest announce his passing in the loving arms of his beloved Wife, Ama on Sunday, November 11 shortly after the 11th hour.
He was a man with simple, honest values, and a generous nature. He was a loving husband; father, brother, uncle, and friend. After his sudden fall in April 2009, suffering from brain injury, he spent time in assisted living and nursing homes. He continued to do his favorite pastime of making crafts until September of this year when he developed a severe case of pneumonia. Due to his illness in the past six weeks, he was unable to fulfill a wish of organ/tissue donation. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Grandview Continuing Centre, Waterford DAL unit, the U of A Hospital, and the Misericordia Hospital for the excellent care and support in the past three and a half years. By his wishes, no funeral will be held. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brain Injury Society, No. 229, 10106 - 111 Avenue N.E., Edmonton, AB T5G 0B4 or the Friends of the University Hospital 1G1-02WMC, 8440 - 112 Street N.W., Edmonton, AB T6T 2B7, or to the charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated.
