BUTCHER, Albert Reginald
Reg passed away peacefully at the Grey Nuns Hospital on Sunday, November 18, 2012.
He was born at Hampton Hill, Middlesex, England on June 26, 1918 to Mabel and Albert Butcher.
Predeceased by his first wife Bernice in 1981, he is survived by his wife Janet Lawrence Butcher, his devoted son Reg (Donna Wilson), his dear grandson Reginald, his great granddaughters Holly and Grace of Ottawa.
Reg was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer, while serving in countries like Belgium, Vietnam and Cyprus. Upon retirement, he worked for over 10 years in the University Of Alberta's Registrar's Office and later was the Provincial Returning Officer for the Parkallen constituency.
A visitation for friends can be made between 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Hainstock's Funeral Home, 9810-34 Avenue, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Salvation Army in memory of Reg.
