CLARK, Jean Louise
August 13, 1926 - December 4, 2012
On December 4, 2012 Jean Clark passed away peacefully, at the age of 86 years.
She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Bella Clark of Stony Plain, AB, her brothers Johnny, Billy, and Bob and her twin brother, David. Also by her sisters Margaret, Isobel, Chris and Betty. Her long-time friend and partner, Michael Blawachy passed away on May 9 of this year as well.
Jean will be greatly missed by her sister Grace. She is also survived by her sisters-in- law Jeannie and Mildred and her brother-in- law Billy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean was a soft-spoken lady whose career in nursing spanned many decades and took her from Vancouver, to Berkley, CA, overseas to Hawaii and home again to Edmonton where she served at many facilities including many years as the company nurse for the Imperial Oil Refinery. She travelled extensively and enjoyed an active life of skiing, golfing, swimming and playing bridge. Jean believed strongly in lifelong learning and enrolled in university courses even in her senior years.
A Memorial Service to remember her life and the lives of those she touched will be held at 1 p.m., December 8, at the Jasper Place Baptist Church, 8801-163 Street, Edmonton. All who knew Jean are welcome to attend.
Special thanks to the nurses, chaplains and staff at St. Michael's Auxiliary Hospital for their kindness and care the past two years of Jean's life.
