On December 14, Bill McMurdo of Wetaskiwin passed away peacefully with family by his side. Bill was a WWII veteran and life time member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Margaret; children, Trudy (Eric), Jim (Charlene), Joanne (Chris), Jock (Mary); grandchildren, Justin (Anne), Steven (Pam), Chandler, Harley; great-grandson, Gavin and sister Jean Baker.
Bill was an avid golfer and curler, long time member of the Kiwanis Club and served nine years on Wetaskiwin city council. He worked many years in the insurance and real estate business, and later became manager of the Wetaskiwin Legion. One of Bill's greatest joys was spending time at the family cabin on Pigeon Lake. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh and smile.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held in the spring.
Donations in memory of Bill can be sent to the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 86, or to a charity of one's choice.
