PEET, Arthur Allan "Al"
The Guest Book is expired.
Arthur Allan "Al" Peet passed away on December 21, 2012 at the age of 76.
He passed away peacefully with his family at his side after a courageous struggle with Parkinson's disease. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Patricia – married for 52 years – and his four children; Dave Peet and Abe Ayeh (spouse) of Calgary, Cathy and Chris (spouse) Terris of Penticton, Barb and Don (spouse) McIntyre of Ottawa, and Dan and Erin (spouse) Peet of Calgary. Al will be also missed by his six grandchildren (Natalie, Emma, Connor, Evan, Kiefer and Samara) whom he loved dearly. He was sadly predeceased by his grandson, Cameron.
Al was born in Edson, served in the RCAF Reserves and graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master's in Education. He taught chemistry for 30 years at Strathcona High School in Edmonton. After retirement, Al and Patricia moved to Penticton in 1996. Throughout his life, there was never a challenge he did not take on or a project he could not tackle. He believed in lifelong learning and had countless hobbies and inventions. He loved outdoor adventures, travel and camping. He taught the value of a penny and the need to work hard towards one's goals.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on January 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Saviour's Anglican Church, 150 Orchard Avenue, Penticton. Reception to follow in the church hall.
The family would like to deeply thank Dr. David Paisley, Dr. Hendry and the staff at Haven Hill and Summerland Seniors Village for their heartfelt care.
Memorial tributes may be made to Parkinson's Society of Canada.
Condolences may be sent to the family through providencefuneralhomes.com.
