The family of Klara Traudt of Vegreville is sorrowed to announce her passing.
Klara Traudt (nee Esslinger) was born in Kloetstiz, Bessarabia, Romania on March 1, 1931, and passed peacefully on January 1, 2013.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Peter, and four children; Karin (Les) Schubert, Larry (Gail), Loretta, and Rosemarie; grandchildren, Alixandra, Gordon, Jessica, Teresa, Patrick, Clay, Tyrell, Cole, Charlene, Mary, Albert, Eric, and their spouses, and a great-grandson, Benton; daughter-in-law Charlene. Klara was predeceased by her son Raymond and at a very young age, her parents, Daniel and Olga Esslinger; her Uncle Jacob and Aunt Emma Weippert, with whom she lived after the death of her parents and with whom she immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1951, along with her numerous cousins, and other relatives. She lived first in Taber, then in the area of Bruce, where she met Peter. They married in 1952, and farmed just outside of Vegreville for many years, until they retired to Vegreville in 1996. Klara was for many years an active member of the Emmanuel Evangelical Missionary Church and especially the Ladies Aid Group. She also assisted her children with their 4-H Club activities.
Klara was a hard worker and did everything she could for her family. She had a passion for gardening and always had a bountiful large garden. She was a wonderful cook but baking was her passion. Throughout her life, Klara always put her family first. We were blessed to have you in our lives and will miss you always.

But all is well that's done by Thee."
