MacLAREN, Ferguson Milne "Chuck"
July 23, 1917 - January 13, 2013
Chuck, our wonderful dad, passed away peacefully on Sunday with family at his side. Dad was predeceased by Iola, his wife of 63 years, in 2004.
Mourning his loss and cherishing the memories are his three sons and their wives, Jim and Sandra, Dave and Barbara, Robin and Karen; grandchildren Sean, Kirstin, Kim, Kelsey, Mark, Mike, Shelley, Laura, Shannon and Reed; great-grandchildren Louis, Taylor, Sarah, Emma, David, Andrew, Harper, Rosalind, Emmanuel and Eliot and great- great-grandson Owen.
A reception celebrating Chuck's life will be held at the Alberta Aviation Museum on February 4th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Chuck worked at the Municipal Airport for various organizations from 1939 to 1981. Upon retiring, he changed hangars and volunteered at the Alberta Aviation Museum for over thirty years. In memory of his aviation contributions, donations may be made to the Restoration Program of the Alberta Aviation Museum.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the care given to Dad and his family by the staff at Unit #52 of the Grey Nuns Hospital, Alberta Home Care, and the Waterford at Summerlea.

Very sorry to hear about your Dad,s passing we were both volunteers together at the Alberta Aviation Museum and knew each other before that.Also sorry that I could not attend the funeral at the museum but this get away from winter holiday made it impossible, Condolences again to his family. We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Chuck's passing. As the farm cousins it was always a treat to have Chuck, Iola and family visit us and even better when we visited in Edmonton. We will always remember the mischief in uncles eyes when he was about to tell a story or get us with his quick wit. He will be missed and you are all in our thoughts and prayers. I will try to get to Edmonton for the ceremony on the 4th - work may interfer!

I am so sorry to hear of chucks passing I have known him since I worked at the Edmonton Flying Club in the Cafateria .i also worked at the Aviation Museum we had birthday cakes together at the museum our Birthday s were two years apart I being 1915 He was a wonderful person sorry I can't attend his Memorial as I will be in Sidney BC .with my son Ralph who also knew chuck my son flew for Gateway aviation .God Bless you all .Annie Shortill ..

My deepest condolences on the passing of your Dad "Chuck". My husband volunteered with Chuck at the Aviation Museum and I was fortunate enough to get to know this kind, gentle, gentleman. My husband predeceased Chuck in May and unfortunately I will not be able to attend his service but my thoughts and prayers will be with you all.

I am so sorry to hear of Chuck's death. We lived beside him for only a few years, but we so enjoyed being his neighbours and were sad when he moved away. We still talked about him regularily and wondered how he was doing. Our new neighbours still give us access to 'Chuck's' apple tree, reminding us of his generosity every fall. He was a great neighbour and he will always be missed. Our condolences to you all.
