Jim passed away at 60 years of age after a valiant four-year battle with brain cancer.
He had loved ones at his side during the entire journey and at the time of his passing. Jim is survived by his beloved wife Barb Woodward, daughter Jeanna Friedley, son-in-law Gavin Friedley, and grandchildren Elliott Adelle, Graydon James and grandbaby #3 who is due in June. He leaves behind a loving family in mother Maxine Woodward, brother Ron (Donna) Woodward, sister Marilynne (John) Darroch, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and was predeceased by his father Bob Woodward.
Our family would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to the amazing teams of healthcare professionals that cared for us and Jim at the Burger Family Health Centre and in the Athabasca Hospital, Cross Cancer Institute, Royal Alexandra Hospital, University of Alberta Hospital and Grey Nuns Hospital.
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 9, 11:00 a.m. at the Athabasca Regional Multiplex – Rotary Fieldhouse. Reception to follow. Donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or the charity of your choice.
Husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend: you will be so missed, but we remember you with a laugh in our bellies and a smile in our hearts.
