YACYSHYN, Katie (nee Sikora)
May 6, 1918 - February 19, 2013
It is with heavy hearts we announce Pra Baba has gone to her final resting place at the age of 94.
Katie was a pioneer homesteader born in Spedden Alberta. A mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Predeceased by her husband Harry and daughter Mary Elizabeth Ozga. Survived by her daughter Lillian and Frank Toth and grandson Kirk (Lana) Toth and great-granddaughter Casey. Son-in-law Mike Ozga and granddaughter Cheryl (Gerry) Prince. Grandson Brian (Tracy) Ozga and great-grandson Michael. Grandson Dale (Cindy) Ozga and great-grandchildren Amanda and Ryan. Katie had three sisters and three brothers. Three deceased brothers Andrew, Mike (Anne) and John. Surviving sisters-in-law Bessy Sikora and Nancy Sikora. Two deceased sisters Mary (Stan) Tatchyn and Tillie Stanford. Surviving sister Anne Rachynski.
Family and friends may pay their respects Sunday, February 24 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 - 111 Avenue.
Prayers Sunday, February 24 at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 6420 - 120 Avenue, Edmonton, AB.
Divine Liturgy Monday, February 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Very Reverend Mihajlo Planchak officiating with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Extended Care, 7404 - 139 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5C 3H7.
