"We show up, burn brightly in the moment, live passionately, and when the moment is over, when our work is done, we step back and let go"
Words cannot begin to express the depth of our sorrow at the passing of our dearest mother, sister, aunt and friend to many, Darlene James.
Although she was taken from us far too soon, she was happy and doing what she loved up until her final moment in beautiful Maui.
She will be so sadly missed by her son, Cris, his wife, Emily and their son, Jack Thomas Blackburn James, born March 20, 2013, daughter, Melany James, sister, Dianne (Bill) Calder and their children, Ryan, Jill, Kyle and families, beloved cousin, Val (Jay) Gendall and daughter, Whitney, special in- laws, Rob, Mary-Jane, Paul, Molly and Jeffrey James and other loving family, innumerable friends, co-workers and the many others whose lives she touched.
She was predeceased by her parents, Grant and Yvonne Blackburn.
At Darlene's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. However, there will be a Celebration of Life in the next few months. For further information on this celebration, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will receive more details.
Donations in memory of Darlene may be made to SACE (Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton), on-line donations to sace.ab.ca or Suite 205, 14964 - 121A Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5V 1A3, FARA (Friedrich's Ataxia Research Alliance), PO Box 1537, Springfield, VA 22151 or charity of one's choice.
