Darlene, Kathy, Darren and family you are in our thoughts and prayers. Alfred was a great husband; father grandfather and friend. We have been friends with Alfred Darlene and family for many years. Alfred was a great person always ready to help out and full of impishness, Loved to joke and tease. His smile was wonderful. Brian and Alfred were kindred spirits in the fire dept. and the planning and building of the existing Barrhead firehall. Many trips spent visiting firehalls. They were both truly proud of their accomplishments. Alfred was also very involved in his community and career. Brian and I are honored to call Alfred our friend and we are both better people having known him.
We have wonderful memories of the catering and cooking for the Barrhead Fire Dept. hockey tournamnents with Alf and Darlene in the Legion Kitchen. Many laughs and hard work were shared.
Brian was very honored to be asked to be a pall bearer even though we couldn't be there you were all in our hearts and prayers. The world was truly Blessed to have Alfred among us and he has made us all better people because of it. Thanks for the memories our friend and you are now watching over us from above and smiling down on all of us.
Darlene Kathy Darren and family may the memories live on in your hearts forever as I know they will.
God Bless and may his light shine down on all of you.

My sincere sympathy to the Tauscher family at this sad time. I rode on the school bus with Alf, and then had the opportunity to work at Alberta Transportation during his tenure there. May your happy memories sustain you in the days ahead. I'm sorry I'm unable to attend services, as we are out of country at the moment.

Our deepest sympathy to Darlene,Darren,Kathy and family with Alfred's passing. We have many fond memories of Alf. He was always full of mischief and generous with his time.

We first met Tauschers in 1978 as new neighbors. Alf introduced himself, helped unload the truck and invited us into his home for a generous lunch Darlene had prepared. We enjoyed late back yard BBQ's featuring SCULLY BURGERS. Alf woke early on weekends and would join me at work for coffee.

We remember Halloween with Alf wearing a monster type face mask jumping in front of our window scaring us and the rest of the neighborhood. Alf was excellent mechanic and wood worker. He even repaired the water heater in my father- in- laws motor home.. Alf was the FIREMAN on our annual fishing trips. His kindling was 4 to 6 ft. of deadfall. He would make it into this large teepee, give it a good dose of gas , throw a match at it and run. Hopefully you would still have eyebrows after it lit.

Alf was honest, hard working and his word gold. He was someone you could count on. We will all miss him.

I worked with Alf in the Barrhead Transportation office for several years (since 1981). His smile and positive attitude were always present. He loved to play tricks on the girls and make everyone laugh. He was always there to help out and look after our coffee fund to make sure there was always enough in it for flowers for someone ill or who needed cheering up.
He definitely loved family and from his words and actions you knew he was always proud of them. It doesn't seem fair that such an illness should fall on our bud and friend and in such a short time and take him from this world. Definitely he will be missed and Chris and my deepest sympathies go out to Darlene and family and to his mom and siblings.

I had the privilege to work with Alf for thirty-two years with Alberta Transportation and before that, three years with the County of Barrhead. His deep commitment to both his jobs and the safety of the school children and bus drivers and then the motoring public and highway contractors were only second behind the love and commitment he had to his wife Darlene, children Kathy and Darren and most recently his beloved grandchildren Elora and Wulfie. He spoke of all of them often and with such love and pride that everyone knew they were the apples of his eye. The world was a better place with Alf in it and he will be deeply missed by all that knew and worked with him. The twinkle in his eye when he pulled a prank was a delight to see and he loved to pull pranks! He was always the first to volunteer to sweep the snow, carry a box or fill the photocopier with paper. He was one of a kind and heaven will definitely have a special spot for him. My deepest sympathy goes to his mother, Darlene and family and his siblings plus all the many friends he left behind.
