OLIVIERI, Alberto
It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Alberto, beloved husband, father, nonno, brother and friend, at the age of 86 on May 2, 2013.
Alberto will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his family. He was a generous and devoted husband, father and grandfather, as his family meant everything to him. Left to cherish his memory are Ermelinda, his wife of 58 years; sons, Tony (Carol), Mark (Tammy), Jerry (Josephine); daughter, Anna (Gino); grandchildren, Scott, Keith (Andrea), Sarah, Tasha, Alexi, Michael, Nicole Olivieri, Kaylyn and Meghan Medeiros and Jenna and Adam DeLuca; as well as many brothers, sisters, in- laws, nephews, nieces, friends and relatives.
Alberto was born January 17, 1927 in Cassino, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1952 to be with his future bride and to provide a better future for his family. He was successfully self- employed in the construction trades but in later years became a passionate gardener, spending every waking moment growing the best tomatoes, vegetables and fruit in the neighborhood. The last years of Alberto's life presented him with numerous health challenges, but he still always had time to help others, tell a story or two, debate politics, share a laugh and a meal with family and friends.
Prayers Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 - 110 Avenue. Entombment will follow immediately after in Holy Cross Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Lung Association, Alberta and NWT.
Vi ringrazio molto with our everlasting love.
