On October 23, 2013, John Muzyka passed away valiantly fighting an adversary he could not conquer and succumbed four days prior to his 87th birthday.
He leaves to mourn his loss, family, many extended family members and numerous friends. John is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 63 years, Delores; daughters, Melanie (Bernie) Shipka, Sandra Muzyka and Valerie Muzyka; grandchildren, Venessa Shipka (Etienne), Jonathon (Lenora) Shipka, Matthew (Tanya) Shipka and Brittany (James) Wiebe; great-grandchildren, Paula, Miroslav, Sydney and newly born, Aliyah. Predeceased by his parents, John and Katherine Muzyka; sisters, Maria and Anne Griffin.
John brought tears of joy with his humour, unconditional love and a zest for life and learning. His love, generosity and devotion to family and friends endeared him to all. His energy was contagious. Dad filled all of his days with his passions, including building, fishing and cooking and those who knew him were the benefactors. No one in need was denied. John was the master at getting life out of his years and his memory will live on.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the "Angels of Mercy" at Grey Nuns Palliative Care Unit 43 who provided compassionate care and comfort to John and his family.
