HUNTINGFORD, Gordon
June 30, 1924 - March 13, 2015
Gordon passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2015 in Victoria B.C. Predeceased by his wife of 60 years Eileen (2005).
Lovingly remembered by son Dale (Ginny) in Calgary and daughter Mona (Dan) in Victoria and grandchildren Nancy in Boston, Stasha in Calgary, Kyra (Colin) in Calgary, Sean deceased 2013 (Sasha) of Victoria, Drew in Victoria, Brittany (Trevor) in Azerbaijan, and 2 great-grandsons Jordan and Shea of Victoria.
Gordon was born in Wainwright where he started his career in printing as a teenager at the Wainwright Star. In 1945 he married Eileen and moved to Edmonton, eventually progressing to co-ownership of Spartan Press. Throughout his career he was admired by many as a compassionate mentor and advisor.
After retirement in 1986, he and Eileen enjoyed a life of adventure and travel and Gordon continued to develop his skills as a winemaker, woodworker, golfer, and all around go-to guy.
Gordon's generosity, thoughtfulness, kindness, humour, and tender heart were recognized by all, man and dog alike. Gord Huntingford, a great man.
