CHATTERS, David Cameron
April 15, 1946 – January 25, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Chatters at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evelyn (Evie); sons Gary and Matt (Andrea); grandsons Calder, and Codie (Karyna); great-granddaughters Evelyn and Anastasia; sisters MaryEllen (Brian) Richardson, Barbara Wilson, Judy (Myles) Levang, Jennifer (Lloyd) Ungeran; brothers John (Rita), Christopher, Philip (Beverly) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
David was predeceased by his parents Len and Doris Chatters and a brother Robin.
David was born, raised and lived in the Jarvie area his entire life. He farmed and raised purebred cattle for many years. As a driller on the oil rigs he worked from the Arctic to Oklahoma. He was elected to the Westlock school board and served as chairman for some time. David served for 13 ½ years in Ottawa as the Member of Parliament for the Athabasca Constituency until he retired in order to fight a long battle with cancer.
Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service will be held February 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Westlock Community Hall with interment in the Jarvie Cemetery at a later date.
