Zeigler, Wyatt Alan - Rincon  
On Nov. 11, 2014 at 4:25 a.m., Wyatt Alan Zeigler came into the hearts of his mother, Ashley, and father, Alan David Zeigler. He took flight on his angel's wings at 4:35 a.m. He weighed 7 lbs., 6 oz. and was 21 inches long. He is survived by his sister, Nora Isabelle, and brother, Paul David; grandparents, David and Connie Zeigler, Ronnie Williams and Marsha Dixon; great-grandparents, Geneva and Pat Clark, Mary Akins, Marie Marshburn and Gene Osteen; and a great many aunts, uncles and cousins. The graveside service was held Thursday, Nov. 13 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery. Remembrances can be given to HOPEforTrisomy13and18.org or the Bible Lutheran Church playground fund.

Zipperer Sr., Sylvester Nease "Big Zip" - Port Wentworth  
Sylvester Nease "Big Zip" Zipperer Sr., 90, husband of the late Margaret Levy Zipperer, went home to be with Jesus Christ and his loving wife of almost 60 years early Friday, Oct. 17, 2014. Mr. Zipperer was born on Oct. 12, 1924 in Guyton to the late Luther and Lucille Mary Zipperer. He was a member of the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church where he attended the men's fellowship breakfast. Mr. Zipperer was also a member of the Lions Club of Port Wentworth and coached baseball for the Port Wentworth little league. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy, Mr. Zipperer worked for Seaboard Coast Line Railroad and later retired after 42 years of service. He was a very loving and devoted grandfather who was always there for his grandchildren no matter the hour of the day or day of the week. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rantz Zipperer. Surviving are his son, Sylvester N. "Zip" Zipperer Jr. of Port Wentworth; his daughter, Cindy Seckinger and her husband Marty of Guyton; five grandchildren, Justin Zipperer and his wife Crystal, Derrick Zipperer and his wife Lynsey, Kristin Seckinger, Blake Seckinger and Brooks Seckinger; great-grandchildren, Megan, Addison and Layla Margaret; his brothers, Bernard Zipperer and Dwight Zipperer and his wife Cathy; his sister-in-law, Alligene Zipperer; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 19 at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral was held Monday, Oct. 20 at Port Wentworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary L. Boyles and Rev. Randy Nease officiating. Interment was in Bonaventure Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Tony Barras, Travis Kent, Terry Joyner, Charles Ruiz, Dennis Temples, Terry Temples and Rantz Zipperer Jr. Honorary pallbearers were retirees of Seaboard Coast Line Railroad. Remembrances may be made to Port Wentworth United Methodist Church, 201 Turnberry St., Port Wentworth, GA 31407. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Robert Brown, Dr. James S. Gainer, Dr. Samuel Torres, Dr. Steven L. Carpenter, Dr. Jennifer Yeh and her father Dr. Thomas Yeh, Dr. Stephanie D. Croll, Dr. Marianne Fleming, Dr. Grant Lewis, Dr. Aaron W. Zittrouer, Lucie Rae - Springfield  
Lucie Rae Zittrouer, 90, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 at Effingham Care Center. The Effingham County native was member of First Baptist Church of Springfield, the TEL Sunday school class and Effingham County Farm Bureau. She was a kindergarten teacher for over 30 years and worked at Rahn's Greenhouses. She enjoyed entertaining at the Ponderosa, traveling and camping, and making crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Spurgeon B. Hinely and Corine Bragg Hinely; husband, Angus Clinton Zittrouer; and sisters, Madena Edenfield and Marguerite Dutton. Survivors include her daughters, Peggy (Steve) Smith and Nell (Mark) Crapps; sons, Norwood (Sandra) Zittrouer and Ray (Judy) Zittrouer; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 24 at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services were on Saturday, Oct. 25 at First Baptist Church of Springfield. Interment followed in Springfield Cemetery Annex. Remembrances may be given to the Effingham Care Center beauty shop, 459 Hwy. 119 S., Springfield, GA 31329 or God's Mission House, 1435 Highway 119 N., Springfield, GA 31329.
