May Quint (Carter) Exley

Mrs. May Quint Carter Exley, 94, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at the Effingham Extended Care Facility.
Mrs. Exley was born in Savannah and moved to Effingham County in 1935. She was a homemaker, a member of Laurel Hill Lutheran Church, where she was active in all phases of the church, a member of the Clyo Homemakers Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Historic Effingham Society, Georgia Salzburger Society and the "31" Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Barnard Rahn Exley.
Survivors include her children, Julia E. Rahn (Carswell) of Springfield, Delora E. Williams of Savannah, Margaret C. Suttle of Hattiesburg, Miss., Carter Exley (Sharon) of Guyton and Edmund Exley (Sandra) of Screven; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Saturday, Sept. 1, at Laurel Hill Lutheran Church, with services following at 11 a.m.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
