SYLVANIA - Douglas "Doug" Rud, 58, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. He was born at Landstuhl Air Force Base in Germany to the late Arthur Sr. and Doris Hodges Rud. He worked as an electrician and plumber and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing cards, was a skilled carpenter and a hard worker. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Darlene Campbell Rud.
Survivors include his son and his fiancé', Douglas James "D.J." and Sarabeth Rud of Newington; step-daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Jay Derriso of Sylvania; sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly Youmans and Foy Balance of Brooklet, and Dawn R. and Daniel Lambert of Springfield; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur Jr. "Pudge" and Gail Rud of Guyton; grandchildren, Cole Derriso, Carla Derriso and Carmen Derriso; step-grandchildren, Woods Miller and Nathaniel Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was April 3, 2018, at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
The family will have a private burial.
