Eileen E. Floyd, 77, of Pooler, passed away peacefully Jan. 16, 2019, at Hospice Savannah.
Eileen was born March 3, 1941, in Nyack, N.Y., to John and Kathleen Ehmann. She lived in New York and Connecticut before moving to Savannah in 1955 and attending St. Vincent's Academy. She remained in Savannah where she began her career at American Cyanamid and retired from Georgia Power (formerly Savannah Electric and Power Company) as an executive assistant after 34 years of service. In retirement, she worked for the Catholic Diocese of Savannah, was a volunteer at Oatland Island Wildlife Center and was a founding member of and helped establish Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Pooler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Kathleen, and her daughter, Lisa Floyd. She is survived by her son, Christopher Floyd (Heather Merbs) of Savannah; her daughter Allison Floyd (Ellen Soloway) of Decatur,; grandchildren, Kyle Leonhardt, Ansley Leonhardt and Seth Leonhardt; and her brother John Ehmann (Anne).
A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 501 South Coastal Hwy, Port Wentworth with Fr. Tom Murphy and Fr. Joseph Smith celebrating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to St. Vincent's Academy 207 East Liberty Street, Savannah, Ga. 31401.
