PORT WENTWORTH - Hugh Cordell Edwards, 56, passed away May 26, 2018, at Candler Hospital.
The Chatham County native was a member of Landmark Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing. He was an honorary member of the Port Wentworth Volunteer Fire Department, enjoyed fishing and playing the banjo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Dorsey Edwards and Wilma Gnann Edwards.
Survivors include his brothers, Samuel B. Edwards and Willie L. Edwards; niece, Robin Terry; nephews, Tim and Michael Edwards and Will Eschenburg; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 30, 2018, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. May 31, 2018, in the chapel at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
