Mrs. JoAnn McLaughlin Lanier, 78, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at Evans Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Lanier was a resident of Guyton for more than 40 years, and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Port Wentworth. She was a seamstress, loved sewing and was a good cook. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward Lamar and Mary Ardley Buckman McLaughlin.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kennith Logan Lanier Sr. of Guyton; children and spouses, Kennith Logan Jr. and Suzanne Lanier of Minogua, Wis., James Curtis Lanier of Denver, Col., Lawrence A. and Jolene Lanier of Guyton, John Lanier of Rincon, Andrew J. Lanier of Savannah and Karen Diane Lanier of Savannah; sister, Dorthy Rae Stevens of Gum Branch; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 7, from 1-3 p.m. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Ash Branch Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
