John W. "Bud" Tebeau, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Effingham Hosptial.

He was born in Springfield on April 9, 1937 to the late Troy P. and Willie K. Tebeau. He graduated from Effingham Academy and attended Newberry College. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Effingham County Historical Society, where he received a 2013 Presidential Award.
He retired from Union Camp Distribution. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a former volunteer with Springfield Fire Department and a former member of the Springfield Jaycees. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing cards with his friends on Wednesdays.
Survivors include his sisters, Lee Ellen Hanberry (Billy) and Jo Louisa Tebeau; nieces, Cheryl Dickey (Kelly), Kay Smith (Joey) and Robbie Partain (Eddie); seven great-nieces and nephews; six great-great-nephews; and an uncle, Allen Webb.
Visitation was Friday, May 2, from 5-7 p.m. at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor James Cavanah officiating.
Interment will follow in Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
