Leslie G. Stodghill, 63, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Effingham Extended Care Facility.

The longtime Effingham County resident was a member of First Christian Church of Rincon and had retired from Great Dane Trailers after 29 years of service. The loving father enjoyed his family and woodworking.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth F. Gay; two children, Brandon Stodghill (Summer Hayes) and Melanie Stodghill (Robert Floyd); brothers, Dennis Stodghill (Joyce), Michael Stodghill (Glenda), George Gay and Bobby Gay (Van); sisters, Pamela Allen and Mildred Monroe; grandchildren, Austin Stodghill and Avery Floyd; aunts, Doris Hayes and Dorothy Cooper; uncle, John Fisher; compassionate caregivers, George and Janet Scott; mother of his children, Cheryl Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 7, from 9-10 a.m. at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be Wednesday, May 7 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
