Mrs. Ruby McGowan Bragg, 97, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at the Effingham Extended Care Facility.
Mrs. Ruby was born in Telfair County to the late Burley and Annie McGowan. She also was preceded in death by her husband, M.W. Bragg, as well as three sisters, Myrtle Steadham, Pearline Harden and Jessie Mae Brown. She was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church and was active in the UMW.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Mitchell Weitman; granddaughter, Amy W. Strickland and her husband, Trey; grandson, Jon Weitman; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Emma and Jonah Strickland; sister, Ruth Hattaway of Wichita Falls, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation was Monday, Dec. 2 in Dent Hall at Springfield United Methodist Church.
The funeral was Monday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. at Springfield United Methodist Church with the burial following at Springfield Cemetery.
