Sarah Pearl Coppock Hunter, age 83, passed away on May 26, 2018.
She was born to Jesse and Pearl Coppock on Jan. 24, 1935, in Guyton. She was educated in the public schools of Effingham County. On June 16, 1951, she married her childhood sweetheart, Daniel Lee Hunter, who passed on Dec. 30, 2017. To this union, three children were born; two children, Daniel Hunter Jr. and Anthony Hunter preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and seamstress in her home. She sewed for people all over Effingham County for many years. At an early age, she joined Macedonia Baptist Church where she worked faithfully until her health began to fail. She loved her church, especially the choir where she sang for more than 50 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Hunter; a daughter-in-law that is really a daughter, Jacquelyn Hunter; five grandchildren: LaMeisha (Terry) Kelly, Daniel (Debbie) Hunter, Jonah Hills, Rochene (Nicole) Hunter, and Montrelle (Maurice) Smith; one adopted grandchild, Akira Hines Takacs; six great-grandchildren: Katie, Shabrea, Tyler, Paige, T.J., and Jayden; four sisters: Lizzie Reese of Guyton, Ella Bell Jones of Swainsboro, Doretha (Tom) Johnson of Atlanta, and Mother Doris Hunter of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three brothers-in-law: Dea. Ralph (Effie) Hunter, George Hunter, Lenny Holley; four sisters-in-law: Ernestine Hunter, Berneta Wallace, Rita Hunter, and Overseer Carrie Coppock; and a very large family, church friends, and community members.
The Life Celebration Service was June 2, 2018, at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Association Center 801 Central Blvd., Guyton. Interment was at Old Providence Cemetery, Guyton.
