ELKIN — Anita Louise Green of Elkin passed from this earthly life on Dec. 8, 2013, at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born on Sept. 20, 1951, in Trenton, N.J., to Roxie Rolen of Bluefield, Va., and to the late Robert Rolen. She is survived by her husband, James Green of Elkin; mother, Roxie Rolen of Bluefield; daughter, Yvette Call of Sparta; and sons, Bill Davidson of Peachland and Robert Davidson of Trinity. In addition, she has six grandchildren and one great-grandson with three others on the way. She is also survived by three sisters, Patty Grubb of High Point, Deloris McClanahan of Thomasville and Linda Rolen of Bluefield, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Anita loved people and shared her faith through her quilting and giving to everyone. Even during her long battle with cancer she never lost her strong will to live and to be a positive influence. The family would like to express its sincere appreciation to Dr. Carol Albright and staff of Wake Forest Cancer Center in Elkin. Also many thanks go to the staff of the Woltz Hospice Home who focused on making her comfortable. A celebration of life gathering for friends and family will be at Johnson Funeral Home in Elkin on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. led by the Rev. Stuart Roten and the Rev. Shonnie Thompson. Burial will follow the service at Crestwood Memorial Gardens in State Road. The family will visit with friends for one hour before the service.
