MORGANTON — Harold Richard Crump, 82, of Morganton, formerly of Elkin, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Born in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Nov. 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Lewis and Della Morrison Crump. Harold was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. He was a very loving and kind person and enjoyed birds and the outdoors. Mr. Crump is survived by his wife of 21 years, Billie Crump of the home; a son, Tommy Harold Crump and his wife, Janet Fowler Crump, of Elkin; a stepdaughter, Pamela Patton and her husband, Kevin, of Morganton; grandchildren, Peyton Crump and his wife, Amy Adams Crump, of Hillsborough, Patrice Williams and her husband, Matthew, of Kernersville, Sarah Crump of Wilmington and Shaina Crump of Boone; a stepgrandson, Bradley Ray and his wife, Kim, of Morganton; great-grandchildren, Asher Crump, Ainsley Crump, Jonah Williams, Gideon Williams, Brittany Ray, Jacob Ray, Katie Sams, Taylor Sams and Hannah Bowden; a brother, Raymond Crump and his wife, Janette, of Elkin; his caregiver, Brenda Waycaster; and his feline companions, Panther and Mittens. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Gabrielle Williams. The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Mt. Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. The family will receive friends in the church following the service. At other times, the family will be at the home.
