Kenneth Elledge, age 84 of Jonesville, passed away on Friday, Septemeber 13, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Elledge was born in Forsyth County on January 23, 1929 to the late Ransom and Alice Monday Elledge. On February 9, 1949 he married the love of his life, Lois Reeves Elledge. Mr. Elledge was one of the charter members of Arlington Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkin.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Elledge.
Mr. Elledge is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lois Reeves Elledge of the home; children, Lynn Elledge and wife Sheila of Jonesville , Barry Elledge and wife Diane of Hamptonville, Blenda Singletary and husband Glen of Iron Station, NC; brothers, Kermit Elledge and wife Christine of Prince George, VA, Richard Elledge of North Wilkesboro; sisters, Lucille Chambers and husband Luther of North Wilkesboro, Frances Boyles of Winston-Salem, Barbara Miles and husband Richard of Hays, Billie Stamp and husband Cal of Winston Salem, Ellie Cox and Husband Gene of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Sara Singletary, Jamie Williams and wife Erin, Robbie Williams; great grandchildren, Ethan Williams, Levi Williams, Bradley Williams; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service s will be held at 2:00, Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Elkin led by Rick Bennett and Dr. Bill Johnson. Burial will follow the service at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Mt. Valley Hospice, Nurse, Scott, Wilma, Jeannie, Edie, Barbara, , Tiffany, Sheila, Leslie, Jennifer, and Penny for all the love and care that was given to Mr. Elledge and his family.
