ELKIN — Mrs. Edna Mae Luffman, 83, of Elkin, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Luffman was born in Surry County on Oct. 24, 1932, to the late James Albert Gilley, and Frances Nixon Gilley. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Eddie Gray Luffman; and several siblings. She is survived by her husband, Nathaniel Luffman of the home; son, Jonathan Luffman Sr. and wife Carolyn of Bennettsville, South Carolina; brother, Paul Gilley of Elkin; sisters, Mary Adams of Jonesville, Cleo Cheek of Winston-Salem, Leo St. John of Elkin, Betty Pardue of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Randall Luffman, Jayme Morris and husband Derek, Barry Luffman and wife Sherry, Jonathan Luffman Jr. and wife Angela; eight great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nepews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Dr. Danny Dodds. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Luffman. Johnson Funeral Home is serving the Luffman family.

I am so sorry to hear of Edna's passing! It was great to be able to talk to her on Facebook! She was a dear, sweet lady and I know your hearts are broken. God give you comfort during this time.
