Mr. Edwin Melvin Holbrook, age 58 of Winston-Salem, passed away, Friday, May 20, 2016 at Winston-Salem Nursing and Rehab Center. Melvin was born in Surry County on March 8, 1958 to Hillery Holbrook and Zeola Settle Holbrook. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his sons, Matthew Holbrook and wife Erin, Andrew Holbrook and wife Kacie, his mother, Zeola Settle Holbrook, brother, Gary Holbrook and wife Patricia, sisters, Janice Holbrook Sizemore, and Faye Barber and husband Ronnie, grandchildren, Payton Holbrook, Brady Holbrook, Camden Holbrook and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held, Monday, 4:00 p.m., May 23, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Sparks. Burial will follow at Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Ronda. The Holbrook Family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. Johnson Funeral Home of Elkin is serving the Holbrook family.
