Charles Squires Obituary
Charles Lee Squires, 76, of Green River, Wyoming passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at his home. A resident of Green River, Wyoming for the past twenty-eight years and former resident of Moab, Utah, Mr. Squires died following a brief illness.
He was born on October 2, 1935 in Delores, Colorado, the son of the late Edgar Lee and Leona Beatrice Squires.
Mr. Squires attended schools in Dolores, Colorado and was a 1953 graduate of the Dolores High School.
On December 24, 1953, Mr. Squires married Anna Irene Millard and she preceded him in death on February 12, 1997.
He was employed by Texas Gulf for thirty years and retired on January 1, 1996 as their Health and Safety Director.
Mr. Squires was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church; BPO Elks, past Exhaulted Ruler, in Moab, Utah, Masonic Lodge, Sweetwater County Mutual Aid, Mine Rescue and Golden Hour Senior Citizen's Center.
His interests included hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, cooking and was an avid sports fan. He coached baseball and was a Boy Scout Master but enjoyed spending time with his family most.
Survivors include two sons Randy Squires and wife Lori of Elko, Nevada and Jody Ben Squires and wife Cathy of Fallon, Nevada; one daughter Cornellie Dawn Squires and companion Tony Harrelll of Green River, Wyoming; one brother Jack Lindon Squires and wife Carolyn of Dolores, Colorado; two sisters Barbara Ann Webb of College Station, Texas and Jodie Rae Tidwell and husband Doug of Dolores, Colorado; nine grandchildren Jason and Melissa Fossey, Sara and Darell Domson, Jill and Steve Chambliss, Hanah Squires, Shannon Squires, Chelsea and Geddy Northrup, James and Laura Squires, Miranda Squires and Kevin Squires; eleven great-grandchildren Jason Lynden, Anna and Charles Fossey, Braydon and Austin Wynne, Dylan, Dawson and Payton Squires, Kylie Squires and Hunter and Dakota Chambliss.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ann, and one granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Fossey, son Charles Lyndon Squires.
Following cremation, memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the St. John's Episcopal Church, 350 Mansface, Green River, Wyoming. Father Roy Walworth will officiate. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
