Charles A. Reed Jr., 75, of Twin Falls, Idaho, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at his home.

Charles was born November 13, 1933 at Norfolk, Nebraska the son of Charles Adrian Sr. and Lola Herrington Reed. He was raised and educated in Norfolk, graduating from high school in 1951. In 1953 he joined the US Air Force where he served in England. He was honorable discharged in 1957. He returned to Norfolk and helped his father on the family farm. Charles spent many years working as a heavy equipment operator on road construction. In 1974 he went to work for Getty Oil in Shirley Basin, Wyoming. He met and married Janet "Moo" Mumma in 1981 at Casper, Wyoming. In 1985 they moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where they operated a Motel. In 1987 he moved to Elko where he worked for Barrick Gold Strike, retiring in 1997. Following his retirement, Charles and Janet moved to Twin Falls where he has since resided. After moving to Twin Falls, Charles worked at the Twin Falls Municipal Golf Course as groomer for several years.
Charles is survived by his wife; Janet "Moo" of Twin Falls, Two step daughters; Laura (Kurt) Olofson of Custer, South Dakota and Karen Christopher of Fairbanks, Alaska. A stepson; Robert (Tammy) Howell of Kimberly, Idaho. Two grandchildren; Robert Howell of Boise, Idaho and Amanda Howell of Kimberly. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents. One brother and one sister. A memorial service honoring Charles will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2009 at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park." Memorial contributions in Charles name may be made to St. Luke's Health and Hospice or to a favorite charity of choice.
