Maria F. Sarabia (Minnie) February 15, 1941 - July 19, 2014 Maria F. Sarabia (Minnie), 73, lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at a local hospital. Minnie was born on February 15, 1941 in Smeltertown, Texas. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and is survived by her husband of 48 years, Antonio Sarabia Sr., sons Antonio Sarabia Jr. (Romie), and Carlos Eduardo Sarabia. Minnie was a proud grandmother to Noah Anthony Sarabia and Amanda Maria Sarabia. Minnie was a very giving and loving person who was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She loved roosters, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and baking. She was also known for making beautiful beaded bracelets and her special homemade carrot cake. Although she had many interests, above all else she loved God and family. Minnie is also survived by her sisters, Consuelo Hernandez, Alice Cabralez, Enriqueta Estorga, Olivina Mier, Lily King, Adelina Vigil, Sylvia Estala, and brother Martin Holguin. She was preceded in death by her sister Alma (Chochy) Ruiz. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins and friends. Minnie touched the lives of many people with her smile and her incredible generosity and she will be greatly missed by all. The family wishes to thank the medical staff who cared for her during her hospitalizations. Services as follows: Rosary- 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Santa Teresita Mission. Funeral Mass- 8:45 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Santa Teresita Mission. Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m., at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers- Martin Holguin, Patricio Salcido, J.P. Sarabia, Ruben Cabralez, Jimmy Estorga, Larry Morales. My heart goes out to my Tio Tony, Tony Jr. Charley grandkids and all her loving siblings and family members. God needs her in heaven, but she will be missed here on earth. She was the best Nina in the world. I will miss how she always remembers me on every birthday and special occasion. She will always have a special place in my heart. She always made me feel at home in her heart of gold. I love you Tia Minnie.
