With deep sadness, we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, Elisa Macias Alvarez, on January 24, 2013 at the age of 86. Elisa is survived by her husband of 62 years, Casiano Alvarez, and her children, Arturo (Mary), Armando (Yvonne), Socorro, Elisa, and Esther (Troy); her grandchildren, Marissa (Manuel), Daniel, and Roger; her great-grandchildren, Antonio and Santiago; and her beloved sister Marta Julieta Guzman (Salvador). Elisa follows into the light her two beautiful granddaughters, Layla and Rebecca, and her sister, Elia Robles. Elisa lived a long and fruitful life giving her all to her children, her husband, and so many others throughout her life, leaving us with beautiful memories of her generosity and kindness. Elisa embarked on her childhood dream of becoming a teacher at age 40; receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. She loved teaching bilingual first-grade, retiring after 26 years with the Ysleta Independent School District. A memorial service for Elisa will be held at a later date. Service arrangements entrusted to the care of FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL MARTIN EAST 1460 GEORGE DIETER DRIVE EL PASO, TEXAS 79936. 915-855-8881. www.martinfuneralhomeeast.com

To the Alvarez family: The LORD comfort you and give you peace. I mourn with you at Hna. Alvarez' passing. And the heavens sing at her arrival. God bless your family and may He draw you closer to Himself and give you the grace to endure during this difficult time.

On behalf of the Carlos and Pedro Amato families, please receive our deepest condolences. Casiano and Licha were my parents (Carlos and Eva) and my aunt and uncle (Pedro and Concha) “compadres.” I remember their friendship and relationship dating back to 1954. Our families always held them in high esteem.
Casiano, nuestro sincero pésame y que el recuerdo de su dulce esposa conforte su pena. Nuestras oraciones permanecen con usted y su familia.
