HALL, KIMIKO - El Paso
Kimiko (Ann) Hall, 88, passed away on April 24, 2016 in El Paso, Texas. She was born on Feb. 11, 1928 in Japan, and called El Paso her home since 1973. She survived many things, including ovarian cancer years earlier, making it a point to encourage others in the hospital. She embraced Fort Hancock Community Church and St. Paul's United Methodist Church, El Paso. Always good with numbers, she worked at an airport for years, including in the payroll department. When her husband died, she often found some kind soldier at Fort Bliss to help her fill her car with gas because she struggled with opening things. She loved beautiful clothes, crocheting, knitting, her miniature white poodles, flowers, Sunny's Sushi, clouds in a bright blue sky, football, music, hot dogs, bowling, baseball and bingo. She brought happiness every day with her joyful greetings to family, friends and health-care workers. Preceded in death by her husband, Jim, Ann is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James & Michelle Hall of Grapevine, TX; granddaughter Kristin (Ian) Walton of Irving, TX; grandson James Hall of Grapevine, TX; nephews Charles Edgren (Valerie) of El Paso, and Phil Edgren of Weaton, MD; niece Eileen Edgren of Spokane, WA and cousins including Tohru Muranaka of Yamaguchiken, Japan. Royal Estates of El Paso will host a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. May 7 at 435 S. Mesa Hills. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to a charity of your choice.

HOLDER, TYLER - El Paso
Tyler Joseph (TJ) Holder passed away unexpectedly April 26 at the age of 20. TJ was an enormously talented, complex individual who was set on doing life "his way," consequences notwithstanding. A skilled writer and composer, at his untimely passing he left the world baffled by his behavior at times and amazed at others with his depth of understanding, compassion and kindness, incredible humor, creativity, wisdom and beauty. TJ is survived by Denise Munday Melton his heartbroken mother, by Emily Melton his cherished half-sister, and by grandparents Gary and Lucille Munday, so involved and loving in his childhood, and by great grandfather Carleton Munday. He is proudly survived by his father, Wendell Holder who loved and artfully supported his beloved son's wisdom, playfulness, neediness, and painful decisions; by his grandmother Anne Holder (MiMi), fierce in her love and undying support and respect for him, from the day he was born to the day he passed; by cousin Corey who of late co-authored a future plan with both of them taking charge of their lives; and by his loving aunt Autumn Holder. His passing is also celebrated by a host of former teachers, physicians and therapists who spent endless hours trying to "catch up" to him and understand his brilliant yet troubled mind. Also sharing in his memory are cherished and loyal friends, many of whom tried to help him navigate life's stormy waters, and significantly his "second family," Susan Grubb and Emily Hough. As one former teacher wrote upon learning of his passing: the stars shine less brightly tonight. May you find peace, TJ. A memorial service will be held at Perches West Funeral Home (6111 South Desert Blvd. El Paso, TX 79932) on Saturday May 7, 2016. Time: 11 am to 2 pm. with a Memorial Service at 11:30 am.
