FISKE, WILLIAM - El Paso
William Clay Fiske, Jr. was called home to be with the Lord on June 28th. He lived a wonderful and blessed life. His family celebrates the man that he was; an extraordinary husband and father, brother, uncle, Grandfather, and friend. His lessons, laughter, and unconditional love will remain in our hearts forever. God truly gave us a gift. After graduating Austin HS in El Paso, Bill attended New Mexico State University where he studied engineering. It is there that he would meet and eventually marry his wife of 54 years, Nancy Lee and have two children together. If you knew Bill well, you knew that besides being married to Nancy, he was also "married" to his beloved Aggies and the family business Southwestern Industrial Contractors and Riggers, Inc., for which he worked all of his adult life. He believed in giving back to his community and his university for which gave him so much. He served on the Board of the Women's Club of El Paso, the Austin HS Reunion Committee and was a proud member of the Specialized Carriers and Riggers Assoc. for which the Fiske family was a founding member. Perhaps his biggest passion was NMSU where he was a graduate of the College of Engineering. An Aggie to the end, he attended as many home football and basketball games as he could throughout the years, often times with his wife, children, and parents at his side. He contributed to the athletics department as well as helping to create The Fiske Construction Engineering Scholarship for engineering students. He loved the USA and everything about it, especially the American Bald Eagle and all it represented. He is preceded in death by his father William Clay, Sr., his sisters Janet Gouch and Joan Thompson. He leaves behind his mother Rosemay Fiske, wife Nancy Fiske, children Kimberly Fiske Garcia (Eddie), William Clay Fiske III (Kathleen), four grandchildren to whom he was simply Papa; Kendall, Marshal, Jason, and Liam, and his sister Judy Stephens (Gary) and many cousins, nephews, and nieces When the chips were down, he would often say to us, "Life's tough," but it was a little easier with him in our lives. A service and celebration will be held this Saturday, July 4 at 10:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church on 1340 Murchison Dr., El Paso, TX 79902 with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fiske Construction Engineering Scholarship to the NMSU Foundation, PO Box 3590, Las Cruces, NM 88003-8001 Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
