ACOSTA, ALICE - El Paso  
Alice was the eldest of five children, born on August 17, 1929 in Alamo Alto, Texas (El Paso County) to Salomon and Petra Acosta. While in El Paso she worked at the Gunning Casteel Drug Store in Ysleta for 18 years. After growing up in El Paso, Alice moved to California where she worked in retail for 40 years specializing in cameras and fine jewelry. After retiring she returned to El Paso where she lived until her passing on Monday, May 23. Alice had a gentle heart, very generous, had a loving spirit and was caring, had a sense of humor, as well as her warmth, strong faith and love for God. She was a loving sister to her siblings and is survived by her brother Robert Acosta, sister in law Vicki Acosta, Lydia Acosta Almeida and many nieces and nephews. We will miss her dearly and she lives on in the hearts of all she touched. Visitation/Rosary will be on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 Carolina, from 5 pm to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Our Lady of the Valley at 1:30 pm. Interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Gilberto Alaniz, 78 years old passed away on Monday May 16, 2016 surrounded by family. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1980. He retired with 26 years of service. Gilberto is survived by....wife, siblings children and grandchildren. Gilberto was humble, always smiling and full of laughter. Please join us in remembering our Blessed. Bertha Alicia Anderson, passed away on Friday May 26, 2016. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband of 35 years Randall Anderson, their 3 children Cynthia, Melissa, Randall Jr., and 8 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 31, 2016 at Perches funeral home east. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, June 1, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen cemetery east.

Ronnie Leon Anderson of Nederland, Texas passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Ronnie was born in El Paso, Texas to the late Leon Earl Anderson and Mildred Emily Anderson. Heaven has gained an angel and he will be missed by all his family. He is survived by his son Ronnie Leon Anderson (Cathy), daughter Paula Rae Anderson (Gary), son Donnie Matthew Anderson (Cammy), brother Donnie Earl Anderson, sister Rhonda Rae Bellows (Mike), sister Carol Ann Baker, along with his grandchildren Cameron Anderson, Lucas Anderson, Isaac Anderson, Chloe Anderson, and Reilly Anderson. He was a 1966 graduate of Irvin High School and a Vietnam veteran. A gathering of the family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Melanconís Funeral Home in Nederland. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 1:15 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

George Wilhelm Anton. George W. Anton, 85, Devoted and Loving Husband Father and Grandfather, died peacefully on Thursday, May 19, at his home with family by his side. He was the oldest son of Luise Decker and George W. Anton Sr. and is survived by his brother Walter and sister Katherin. George leaves his wife of 61 years, Inge, children; Henry, Patrick, George Jr and Rosemary, Grandchildren; Daniel, Jason, Nathan, Justin and Matthew and Great Grandson: Ryker. George served in the US. Army from April 1951 to December 1979 and retired at the rank of Sergeant Major. Graveside Service with military and DAV Honors will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 11a.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Felipe "Catutis" Araiza, 83, founder and long time member of "Club Depotivo El Retiro" passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 23, 2016. He was born in El Paso, Texas on February 5, 1933. He was preceded in death by his wife; Lidia, son; Javier and daughter; Silvia Ortiz. He is survived by his daughters; Teresa Segura, Sandra Hernandez, Lorie Araiza, Rosalba Galvan, 18 Grandchildren, numerous Great Grandchildren , Great-Great Grandchildren and hundreds of baseball colleagues. He will always be remembered for his humble, loving and caring heart towards every person that came into contact with him. His entire life revolved around the sport of "baseball." He lived his life with a passion rarely seen in other people. You will always live in our hearts and in our souls. We love you Grandpa Chuy.
