CECILIA ALMODOVA

CECILIA AREVALO ALMODOVA "CECI" went to heaven on March 12, 2013 to spend eternity in heaven with our Lord and Savior and with her mother Lala whom she loved very much. She was born on November 22, 1931 in El Paso to Atanacio and Librada Arevalo. Ceci spent all of her life in El Paso and most of her childhood with her brother growing up at the Southwestern Children's Home as her mother also lived and worked there. She attended Aoy/Lamar Elementary, Morehead Intermediate and graduated from El Paso High School in 1950. She loved spending all summer at the Home's Camp in Ruidoso. She went on to work at the newly opened Providence Memorial Hospital. After a few years she went to work at the El Paso Orthopedic Surgery Group and from there she went on to home health care before she retired. Cecilia has 4 children who love her dearly. She loved playing the piano since childhood, loved her dogs and cat, loved reading and talking on the phone, was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a 15 year breast cancer survivor. She passed away peacefully at home. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Inez, husband Ray; and great grandson Carter Meaike. She is survived by her brother Tacho Arevalo (Emma); children, Woody Bare (Josie), Ken Bare, Debbie Bare, Lilly Stone (Bill); grandchildren, Naome Parilla, Narciso Parilla, Crystal McCann, Michael Bare, Jennifer Meaike, Jenna Bare, Melissa Barlow, Marjie Salgado, and Robert Salgado; and 16 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Cancer Treatment Center (Dr. Chesbro and staff), Dr. Gupta, Home Health Care, Hospice VNA, friends, extended family and all of the angels who watch over and protect us. Visitation will be Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Funeral Service will be Monday, March 18, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Chapel. Rite of Committal will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Services under the direction of HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME 1060 Carolina Dr. 598-3332
