DONALD HOOCK

Donald William Hoock Jr. passed away suddenly on Friday, December 21st at his home in El Paso, Texas. Donald was a graduate of New Mexico State University earning a PhD in Physics in 1979. He was a member of the Pi Mu Epsilon National Honorary Mathematics Fraternity and the Sigma Pi Sigma National Physics Honor Society.

Donald dedicated his life to his work and research with the Army Research Lab, Battlefield Environment Division where he was employed for thirty-three years. During this time he received the Department of the Army Research and Development Achievement Award, and was promoted to the title of Chief of the Atmospheric Dynamics Branch.

Donald is survived by his mother Dorothy Jean Hoock, sister Diane Johnson and niece Leslie Sandoval. He was preceded in death by his father Donald William Hoock Sr. Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Prayer Service at 1:30 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Animal Humane Society or the New Mexico Dachshund Rescue.
