DONALD WILSON

Our beloved Sergeant First Class Donald W. Wilson, U.S. Army (Retired) born in Jenks, Oklahoma on February 16, 1938 was welcomed to heaven on August 7, 2014 by parents Wilford and Nola and sons Douglas Wilson and Johnny Gonzales. Don passed peacefully with his devoted wife Nellie by his side after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Don served during the Vietnam War and earned several medals including the Bronze Star. He retired from the Army in 1976 and was manager of Freeway Bowling Lanes and an Insurance salesman until he fully retired in 2000. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend who will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Manuela (Nellie) whom he loved dearly and was married to for 38 years. He is also survived by his Sons, Robert Wilson (Cheryl), David Wilson (Deanna), Daniel Wilson, Nicolas Rangel (Maria); Daughters, Albie Heredia (Carlos), and Elaine Rivera (Fred); 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; Brothers, Roger Wilson (Ann), David Wilson, Kay Wilson (Mary) and Sister Barbara Hayden (Bob). In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the West Texas Chapter of the (915) 544-1799. Visitation will be Monday, August 11, 2014 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with prayer service at 7:00pm at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home, 1755 N. Zaragoza. Graveside service will take place Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10:00am at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
