Edward B Eshe July 12, 1933 - October 17, 2013 Ed died peacefully at home in Green Valley, Arizona, after an almost 2 year battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was born to Edward R. and Louise May Eshe in Mount Vernon, Washington. He graduated from Everett High School in 1951. He entered the U.S. Army Infantry June 30, 1953. His final grade in the Army was Sergeant First Class (E6). The period he served was during the Korean Conflict. After being discharged he resumed his education and graduated from the University of Washington in December of 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Major in Public Accounting. He worked in the U.S. General Accounting Office as an Auditor, moved on to work as Regional Accounting and Fiscal Officer for National Marine Fisheries Service, then onto Regional Budget Officer for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and finally Comptroller for the Seattle District US Army Corps of Engineers. He retired in 1985 after 30 years of federal service. He enjoyed hiking, mountain climbing (peak of Mount Rainier August 3, 1986), fishing (fly fishing), reading, traveling, skiing, landscaping, rafting, digging clams, picking mushrooms and working out (early on was a long distance runner and as the years passed started going to health clubs). In the year 2001 he was salt water kayaking around the San Juan Islands in Washington State. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Maria Cecilia Eshe (nee Caracena), sisters Wanita Peterson (Rodney) and Janet Bastys, his son Mark Eshe (Lorri), daughters Lynne Pollock (Mark), and Robin Eshe; Stepdaughters Angelina de Caracena-Sialand Katherine Mangum (Richard). He is also survived by granddaughters Nicole Soltero (Andres), Courtney Palumbo (Mathew), Kayla Eshe, grandsons, Haroun Sial, Ryan Opel, Mason Bohn and Brooks Eshe, and great granddaughter Allesandra Olivia Soltero. He was a member of the Green Valley Elks, The American Legion Post 66, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Harding-Orr & McDaniel Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in Fort Bliss at Post Chapel #2. Interment will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery according to his wishes.
