Felix D. Hernandez, devoted family man and lifelong tennis enthusiast, passed from this life on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the age of eighty-six. Felix was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 4, 1927. He lived his early life in Fort Hancock, Texas. He graduated from Fort Hancock High School. During World War II
, at age sixteen, he enlisted in the Navy. He later enlisted in the Air Force and served for twenty years. After his retirement in 1972, he worked for Safeway, Fort Bliss Officer's Tennis Club and the El Paso City/County Elections Department. He served as usher at Our Lady of Assumption Church. Felix is preceded in death by his parents Enrique and Ramona Hernandez, his brothers Arturo and Luis, and his sister Enriqueta Ramirez. Felix is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Olga. His survivors include his daughters Monica Stewart and Adela Zich, his son-in-law Jamison Zich, his grandsons Gregory Hutchins, Daveed Zich and Robert Stewart, and his granddaughters Devon Zich, Kiralina and Angelina Stewart, his brother Ruben of Topeka, Kansas and his sister Ernestina Apodaca of El Paso. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Jamison Zich, Daveed Zich, Gregory Hutchins, Ernesto Ramirez, Don Apodaca and Ray Alba. Services: A Rosary will be said at 12:30 pm at Our Lady of Assumption Church on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 followed by the funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss Cemetery.
