GARY TATE

TATE It is with a heavy heart the family of Gary Loren Tate announces his passing on April 26, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Las Cruces, NM. He was born to James and Janice Tate on February 3, 1940 in Childress, TX. He moved with his family to Tell, TX then to Abilene, TX where he went to school. He joined the U.S. Air Force on March 8, 1957 and was honorably discharged on February 3, 1960. His family resided in El Paso, TX and he was employed by El Paso Natural Gas until he retired in 1983. He and his wife moved to Elephant Butte, NM where he opened up a bait shop on the lake with his daughter, realizing his lifelong dream. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, boating and, most of all, time spent with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles; and his sister, Jean. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Tate; son, Tony and wife, Rosie; daughter, Monica Reed and spouse, Ted; daughter, Janice Connor and spouse, Bob Owen; grandchildren - Garrison, Joey and Annabella; sister, Diane and husband, Ron Miller, of Abilene, TX; brother, Ron Tate of Paducah, KY; and many others. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Kirikos Funeral Home Chapel onWednesday, April 30, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. followed by a dinner with his family and friends at Casa Taco at 6:30 P.M. Services will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Church at the Butte with Deacon Dwight Lambert officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. in Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, TX. Casket Bearers will be Tony Tate, Ted Reed, Ron Miller, Bob Owen, Tim Earthman and Jerry Lynn Strickland.
