Gloria Torres Montoya, 85, a lifelong resident of El Paso passed away on April 7, 2014. She was born in Smeltertown on May 2, 1928. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Humberto Montoya Sr. Gloria is survived by her daughter: Elsa Montoya-Mariscal (Robert); sons: Carlos (Adrienne), Martin (Vera), Daniel and Humberto Jr. (Lupe). She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was retired after many years of service in retail sales. She was a loving woman whom all her children's friends thought of as “mom”. No one who ever went to visit her left with an empty stomach. She was a kind and compassionate lady and she will be missed by those who love her. The family of Gloria would like to thank Maria Ruvalcaba and Dalila Briseno for the loving and excellent care given to both our mother Gloria and our father Humberto Montoya Sr. These ladies are truly angels on Earth. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:15 pm Monday, April 14, 2014 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
